Hello there, it's been a while! I haven't had the energy to update for a very long time, so now there is actually a few finished items in line to be reported. (Not that many, though..)
Tällä kertaa keskitytäänkin vihreän ja mustan yhdistelmään. Mä en ole sitten ollenkaan tuon kyseisen vihreän sävyn ystävä, kyseessä on siskon valitsema väri ja arvatkaapa kenelle nämä onkin sitten tehty?
This time the focus is on the combination of green and black. That particular shade of green is so not me, my sister picked it out and can you guess who is the new owner of these items?

Puikot / needles: joustimessa 3,5 mm ja lopputumpussa 3 mm sukkikset / ribbing with 3,5 mm and rest with 3 mm dpn's
Tein näitä sitten sellaset puoltoista tumppua, kun kirjoneuleen tiheys pääsi yllättämään ja jouduin purkamaan ensimmäisen yritelmän joustimeen asti. Mutta ihan kivat tuli, kelpas ainakin siskolle hyvin ja ovat tarpeeksi lämpimät kylmillekin keleille.
I made like 2,5 mittens, because my tension went haywire and I had to rip the first attemp back to the ribbing. They turned out quite ok in the end, my siter liked them and they will be warm enough even for the colder weather.

Nämä tehtiin tarkalla punnitus/purkamismenetelmällä, tarkoituksena käyttää tuo vihreä lanka loppuun. Ja loppuihan se, tais jäädä kokonaista 2 metriä jäljelle. Nämäkin oli melkoset murheenkryynit, tein varmaan kolme sukkaa kun ensin tein mielettömän tiukkaa tuon kärjen ja käsiala muuttui tasona neulottaessa, joten jouduin aloittamaan alusta. Kun käsialan sai tasaiseksi, niin sitten jouduin purkamaan, kun totesin melkein ekan sukan lopussa että täytyy purkaa ja lisätä raitoja, vihreä lanka ei muuten riitä. Toinen sukka alkoi hyvin, mutta raidat tehtyäni totesin, että uusiksmän, olin alottanut raidat väärällä kerroksella ja se sotki sitten nuo kantapään kavennuskerrokset ja toisesta sukasta olis tullut ekaa pidempi.. Lopulta kuitenkin tuli ihan onnistuneet sukat, ja on ilmeisesti ollut oikein käyttökelpoiset yksilöt. Niin, ja näillä saalistin Ravelympicseissä Sock Hockey -mitalin.
These were made with the weighing/ripping method in order to use all of that green yarn. And it did end, I think I had whole 2 meters left. These were also troublemakers, I made like 3 socks total. First the toe was extremely tight and my gauge changed when knitting on one level so I had to start all over again. When I got my tension to be even I realised at the end of the first sock that I had to make more stripes or the green yarn would run out. The second sock started all right but after finishing the stripes I realised that I had started the striping on the wrong row and that would mess the decreases on the heel resulting to a longer second sock - had to redo the stripes. The final outcome is good though. Oh, and these won me a Ravelympics medal in Sock Hockey.
